Canary Threads – The Story of 50 Norwich City shirts

I would like to announce details of a new book called “Canary Threads” documenting a wonderful selection of 50 different shirts worn by Norwich City over the last 60 years.

Each shirt is connected to a great moment in the club’s history or to players that became legends or just great designs including:

  • Promotion to the top flight for the first time in 1972.
  • Wembley for the League Cup Finals of 1973 and 1975.
  • Winning the 1985 Milk Cup.
  • FA Cup Semi-Final disappointment in 1989 and 1992.
  • The historic UEFA cup run of 1993/94.
  • Both 2002 and 2015 Play-Off Finals.
  • Players such as Ron Davies, Kevin Keelan, Martin Peters, Martin O’Neill, Bryan Gunn, Ian Crook, Darren Huckerby,  Grant Holt, Wes Hoolahan, Teemu Pukki, Josh Sargent.
  • Classic designs from Umbro, Admiral, Adidas, Riberio, Mitre, Xara, Errea and Joma.

The shirts featured come from my own collection along with some great ones from Billy Pointer and a very special one from Wes Hoolahan!

Each shirt is beautifully photographed and presented along with an accompanying story.

The book is available to order now at www.canarythreads.com for £15 + P&P.

All profits from sales of this book will go to the excellent Norwich City Community Sports Foundation.  A wonderful organisation that makes a positive difference locally to the lives of so many.

  1. Bought for me by my wife this week, I’ve absolutely devoured this fabulous book in just a couple of hours. However, I’ll definitely dive back into when I need a fix of brilliant Norwich shirts.
Thanks and well done for putting it together, Kevin.
